Baltic Kontor provides independent inspections of containers and containerised cargo in Latvia. Survey attendance can document the condition of the container and, where access is included in the instruction, the cargo inside it. This is useful when visible transport or handling damage must be recorded before the unit moves on, during outturn or for a later claim.
What we inspect
- External condition, including visible structural or impact damage.
- Doors, seals and accessible closing arrangements.
- Cargo condition and any shifted or damaged cargo where access is part of the instruction.
- Visible handling damage and, in ro-ro movements, damage to trailers or vehicles where relevant.
Photographic documentation
The survey record can include photographs of the inspected units and individual areas of damage, with observations identified by container or cargo unit where applicable. The record describes what was accessible and visible at attendance, helping cargo interests, carriers and insurers distinguish container damage from damage to the cargo itself.
Container condition may also be checked as part of a pre-shipment survey or during loading and discharge attendance. Where a loss has occurred, the wider instruction is a cargo damage survey.
