Cargo surveys cover what the vessel carries: how much of it there is, what condition it is in, and how it is handled between shore and ship. Baltic Kontor attends loading and discharge operations in Latvian ports for shippers and receivers, traders, cargo underwriters and P&I clubs, and reports on quantity, quality, stowage and damage.
- Liquid cargoes surveys — quantity and quality in ship, shore and rail tanks, and the transfer between them.
- Dry cargoes survey — bulk, reefer and general cargoes, cargo spaces, stowage, lashing and securing.
- Other cargo services — loss prevention, loss assessment and salvage sale of damaged goods.
Where cargo quantity is established from the vessel’s draught rather than from shore figures, the work is a draft survey. Liquid cargo work is most often called for in Riga, Ventspils and Klaipėda.
